Los 35 hinchas recién habían salido del estadio Pascual Guerrero y regresaban a Florida su ciudad de origen,cuando un artefacto a base de gasolina, también conocido como bomba Molotov, fue lanzado desde el exterior y explotó dentro del bus en el que viajaban.
Todo fue confusión dentro del vehículo pues estaba oscuro, era la medida noche y banderas y camisetas facilitaron la expansión de las llamas.
Seis de jóvenes, entre los 16 y 20 años de edad que viajaban en el bus, sufrieron graves quemaduras.
Deportivo Cali tiene toda su nómina lista para el partido de vuelta en Medellín.
